The prawn is very special and delicious. The potato one is too salty for me and just ok. I think some staffs here are racist, wait quite a long time to order food while other people came after me ordered before me. I tried to find staff to help with order, but they seem did not see me??? One of the best restaurant in Porto we had had. The main dishes we had, wild shrimp risotto and the cataplana dishes were amazing!!! A must visit restaurant whilst in Porto. I tried to get a reservation but was unsuccessful, however they leave seats open for walk-ins. I highly recommend you get there before they open as the line gets very long by opening time (I got there at 18:45). The owner/manager was the most lovely woman I met. She was so friendly and accommodating when asked for recommendations. She recommended the tortilla and duck (both absolutely amazing). The receptionist was great at handling the endless amount of guests pouring in. We were seated roughly after 20mins even though the whole place was packed. We had the razor clams which were devoured in a matter of minutes and the cod. The portions are big and we left there happy and full. Awesome food and service! We ordered the fish soup (a must), potato tortilla (super good!), Oxtails, shrimp (very tasty), and peanut foam as dessert. The restaurant took us in when it was less than one hour to their lunch break. We were lucky to get a table and had a wonderful meal. One of the best shrimp dishes I’ve ever had - very fresh. The clams were delicious too. Make sure you get bread to soak up the sauce. The Vino Verde paired very well well with both dishes. Great bruschetta with gluten-free bread, good fish soup, superb codfish and amazing(!) dessert! Every dish was better than the previous one! Our waitress Ines was very lovely and helpful and Isabel welcomed us warmly. We noticed how well Isabel treated every guest and other people that wanted to come into the restaurant. Our last meal before going back to UK..we were lucky enough to have table for us as we were just randomly walked in to this restaurant. It was full of people and the boss so kind to offer us a table but we need to finish our meal within 45 min. The waitress recommended their speciality such as fish soup, seafood pot and razor clam (and we ordered all of them 😋). .It is surprisingly yummdelicous and you MUST VISIT when you are in Porto. It is just next to Sao Bento Train Station. I stayed in Porto for 5days and tried several restaurants, I would say this is the best one! This restaurant is such a Porto gem. You MUST make a reservation in advance as when we arrived for our 7pm reservation (when the restaurant opens) the line was already packed with around 20 people. We got seated promptly with our reservation and we asked the waiter for his recommendations and he kindly gave us his favourite dishes: Thai mussels, seafood platter in Thai curry and garlic shrimp. All the dishes were packed with flavour and were just spectacular. The interior is decorated with a rustic Portuguese charm that feels like you’re sitting in someone’s home, and the food truly felt that way as well. 3 years was way too long to wait to return to one of my favourite restaurants. Tapa Bento is still one of the best anywhere. Foie Gras with pear, Ox cheek dumplings, sauted mushrooms, Nasi Goreng, Banoffee Mille-feuille. All absolutely yummy and with first class service.
